Rapid Rail will run between Kanpur-Lucknow: Preparations to connect Agra-Lucknow Expressway with Kanpur, jail will also shift

A proposal has been prepared to run Rapid Rail Transit Project (RRTS) between the two cities to make the journey between Kanpur-Lucknow faster. For its study, Principal Secretary Housing Deepak Kumar has given instructions to prepare a Request for Proposal (RFP) by holding a virtual meeting. Instructions have been given to the Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC). Soon there will be a meeting at the government level.

GT Road will be elevated

On Tuesday, a meeting of the high-level Joint Development Committee was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Dr. Rajshekhar regarding the development of Kanpur. In this, the development of Kanpur was discussed. The commissioner informed that the construction of an elevated road will start from Gol Chauraha to Ramadevi to eliminate the jam on GT Road passing inside Kanpur.

The tender will be held on April 29 to appoint a consultant for the construction. At the same time, a proposal has also been prepared to connect the Panki canal belt, Armapur to Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Its report has also been sent to Chief Executive Officer UPEDA Avnish Awasthi. Information regarding the project has been sought from PWD.

Construction of Outer Ring Road will start

A big network of roads will be laid in Kanpur in the coming few years. The outer and inner ring roads will be built in Kanpur. 93 km around the city. The acquisition of land for the Outer Ring Road will start in 5 months. Compensation will also start in September. 23 km in the first phase from March-2023. Construction will be started between Long Madhana to Sacchetti.

Link Expressway to be built inside Kanpur

The commissioner informed that the construction of the Ganga Link Expressway will also be started to eliminate the jam inside the city. NHAI has given consent for the preparation of DPR in the first phase of Ganga Link Expressway Inner Circle Road to link Ganga Barrage. On the other hand, Kanpur Jail will be shifted.

The jail will be shifted

It was decided in the meeting that the district jail would be shifted from the populated area to Civil Lines. There is a plan to build a new jail near Sarsaul. Out of 55 hectares of land, 52 hectares of land have come under the ownership of the Jail Department. Only 3 hectares of land are left to get from some farmers. The proposal for the budget will be sent to the government soon.

waiting for the boat club to end

The boat club built on the Ganga barrage will soon be opened for the people of Kanpur. The remaining 2 boats will arrive by May 15. After that, the plan to start soon will be ready. At the same time, a proposal of Rs 198 crore has been prepared by the PWD for 4 landing of Ganga Barrage Road.

Office to be built in Kanpur South

The proposal for the identified land of the Municipal Corporation for opening the administrative building in Kanpur South has been approved by the House. VC KDA Arvind Singh said that the said land will be taken from the Exchange Model Municipal Corporation

The commissioner has directed the District Magistrate Neha Sharma to open the concerned departments, whose offices are required to be opened in the southern areas. After meeting with them, after getting information about how much land they need for their office, its drawing will be prepared by KDA.
